About Us
Northwest Territories Integration and Community Services (NWT-ICS) was founded in June 2021 as a volunteer group by five passionate members, and it was officially registered as a non-profit organization in 2023. Our mandate is to improve the livelihood and socio-economic well-being of individuals in NWT communities, focusing on critical issues such as homelessness, addictions, mental health, food insecurity, and poverty reduction.
The founders of NWT-ICS are longtime residents of the Northwest Territories, with many years of experience working with vulnerable populations in leadership and frontline capacities. The organization was formed in response to the gaps in services for vulnerable communities, particularly those outside of Yellowknife. With a deep understanding of the need for support, the founders are dedicated to addressing chronic homelessness and mental health issues in our region.
